Raven West was one of the very first print-on-demand (POD) authors when her novel “Red Wine for Breakfast” was published with the AOL Writers Club in 1999.
Before M.J. Rose reached fame for her e-book on a disk, “Red Wine For Breakfast” was published by Book-On-Disc.Com (June 24, 1999). Before Dan Poynter made his fortune as the marketing guru in the Print-On-Demand industry, the novel was one of the first books published in that format by iUniverse, (July 2, 1999).
Her second novel “First Class Male” was published by independent publisher Lighthouse Press, but when that company folded, she took over all publishing rights and re-distributed her novels through Amazon’s “Create Space”.
Her non-fiction book “Rescuing Ruby: How I Rescued My Father from Greedy Cousins, Thieving Attorneys and the Florida Guardianship System” by Robin Westmiller, J.D. has reached as high as #4 on the Amazon best-seller list.
From 2014-2017, she was the publisher of “River Ridge Living” a neighborhood magazine for the residents of the Oxnard, California River Ridge communities, Editor and head writer for Irrigation and Green Industry Magazine, Feature Editor – The Californian Newspaper – Freedom Press, Assistant Editor – The Doctors’ Prescription for Healthy Living Magazine, Feature Editor – Westlake Magazine and free-lance contributor to the Los Angeles Times.
In 1999, she was the winner of the Ventura County Writers Club Short Story contest and won First Place at the Ventura County Fair for her short non-fiction “A Hanukkah Miracle for Modern Times”
West has appeared as a guest on numerous radio and cable TV broadcasts. She’s been a book-signing author at Book Expo Association (BEA) in both New York and Los Angeles as well as a featured author at the Los Angeles Times Book Festival and Santa Barbara, Ojai and Ventura County book fairs.
Her published novels include: Red Wine for Breakfast, (Lighthouse Press, 1999) a romantic tale of intrigue and betrayal between two morning talk-show hosts at a Los Angeles radio station.
First Class Male, (Lighthouse Press, 2001) a romantic mystery involving a rural postmaster, a writer and a district attorney set in the majestic mountains of upstate New York and the concrete jungles of downtown Manhattan, and
Undercover Reunion (Createspace, 2011), a retro-fiction story surrounding two women who attend their 30th high school reunion, only to be recruited by the “real” spy organization they used to play as children in order to bring down an international crime organization headed by their former classmate.
